Celebrating Asheville’s Entrepreneurial Community’s Contribution to Business and Job Creation

Encouraging our citizens to celebrate the remarkable and everyday successes of our entrepreneurs and innovators.

ASHEVILLE, August 8, 2017  – On Tuesday, August 7, Mayor Esther Manheimer signed a proclamation declaring the second week of September “Asheville Entrepreneurship Week.” Asheville Entrepreneurship Week is a celebration of Asheville’s growing startups and innovative businesses. Led by the Hatch AVL Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Asheville, which serves Asheville headquartered high-growth potential startups, Asheville Entrepreneurship Week hosts a Local Government Candidate Forum on Entrepreneurship, celebrates the 3rd Anniversary of 1 Million Cups, a Hatch Pitch Party, the Asheville Area Arts Council’s Annual Color Ball & TEDxAsheville – all in one jam-packed week!

“Asheville works best when its constituents work together. Asheville’s rich and abundant creative culture is an integral and irreplaceable driver of both our economy and our quality of life. It serves as a unique and invaluable resource to our ever-growing community of entrepreneurs.” said Asheville Area Arts Council Board Chair, Gar Ragland. He continued, “The Asheville Area Arts Council is delighted to be a partner and resource to this community, helping to not only sustain but strengthen our creative economy through collaboration.”

The week brings together industry veterans and new entrepreneurs forming valuable connections as they continue to make Asheville a welcome home for innovative thinkers and job creators. Asheville Entrepreneurship Week spans the entire business ecosystem, providing opportunities for everyone from startups to enterprises, and from artists to engineers. Asheville Entrepreneurship Week shines light on the incredible diversity of our entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Sept. 9 – ‘The Memory of Fish’ Film Premiere & Fundraiser for The Collider

Sept. 10 – TEDxAsheville (1pm, Isis Music Hall, 743 Haywood Rd)
